Oh, DICE, you sure had us all excited.

Last week, the video game developer behind the massive, hit, "Battlefield" franchise has stated that the company would reveal something very big during the week. In fact, even DICE's very own senior video and media director/editor, Randy Evans, added to the hype by tweeting a very cryptic and exciting message, according to Master Herald News.

Of course, such words from Evans immediately got "Battlefield" fans in a frenzy. After all, since the game was announced, its massive fanbase has been very eager to get its hands on any new information about the new game, which would probably be dubbed "Battlefield 5."

Fans knew that the latest installment in the game franchise was coming. It was just a matter of time.

As it turns out, DICE's big reveal was not of "Battlefield 5," after all. Instead, the game developer behind one of the most iconic first person shooters ever made has released a story trailer for "Mirror's Edge Catalyst," another one of the company's popular titles, reported Attack of the Fanboy.

Of course, "Mirror's Edge Catalyst" is a great game, and it is quite popular too. In fact, the game's fans have been eagerly anticipating the upcoming game since the original came out back in 2008. In the hands of DICE, fans could, of course, rest assure that the game would be handled with very loving hands.

As far as the trailer goes, it seems like DICE has created a very good-looking game that is every inch a worthy sequel to the 2008 original, indeed.

There's no doubt that "Mirror's Edge Catalyst" is a great game and worthy of every ounce of hype it receives. However, there's also no denying that while awesome, the game is simply not "Battlefield 5," reported Gaming Bolt.

After all, "Battlefield 5" is really the definitive game that placed DICE into the top of the game developers' pyramid. Spanning 13 game and 23 expansion packs to date, the "Battlefield" franchise has become one of the most lucrative and iconic first person shooters ever created.

One might ask then, if DICE's Evans was really pertaining to "Mirror's Edge Catalyst's" story trailer. Might it be possible that Evans was talking about a completely different reveal in his tweet? More importantly, would the reveal finally shed some light on the highly-anticipated "Battlefield 5?"

"Battlefield 5" has already garnered a significant amount of rumors to its name, among them being the premise that the game might release on the PS4, Xbox One and PC, and that the game would include VR support for some extremely immersive gameplay.
