Xbox One's backward compatibility feature has been a hit, and joining the list this month is Rockstar's "Red Dead Redemption." According to Attack of the Fan Boy, though the said game has not been officially announced by Rockstar and Microsoft, some players were able to download the game on their individual platforms.

An image shared by NeoGaf also confirmed Red Dead Redemption's availability on the backward-compatibility program. In a recent report by IGN, however, the said leaked "Read Dead Redemption" game was a slip and was just part of a test. The said game is believed to have been removed already.

In his statement, Larry Hryb, Xbox Live director of programming, said, "Microsoft tests all Xbox 360 games with our emulator to ensure a quality experience across a breadth of titles. Due to an error, some of the games currently in test were accidentally made available. We have since removed access to those games, and apologize for any confusion this may have caused. We will have more information on upcoming releases soon."

He also went as far as clearing the error on Twitter, saying that the Xbox 360 games were tested on an emulator, apparently not intended to launch for players. Meanwhile, Kotaku's offer on how to download and install the game on your console has been apparently blocked by Microsoft's removal of the game on the page.

For those who were able to download the game, it is now unavailable. According to Kotaku, the game has been "flagged" with a notice that says the game needs an update. If the apparent "Red Dead Redemption" leak is any indication that it will be included on the next list of Xbox One's backward compatibility list, Kotaku says, an official announcement may have to come through in order to play the game again.

Meanwhile, the latest from Xbox One backward compatibility includes "The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings," "Small Arms," "Counter-Strike: GO," "Jeremy McGarth's Off Road," "Aegis Wings," "Age of Booty," "Sam & Max Save the World," "Skull Girls," "Soulcalibur" and "Space Giraffe."

Microsoft has also revealed that their upcoming backward compatibility feature will now come as games are revealed instead of setting a monthly announcement of each set. The move to accomplish this type of announcement will readily let players know the latest addition on the list instead of waiting for another month in order to access the full list.
