Daniel Bryan announced his retirement from wrestling due to medical reasons on Monday, Feb. 8, via Twitter and elaborated his condition at the conclusion of this week's Monday Night RAW in Seattle. According to PWInsider, Bryan underwent several tests in New York City days before the Royal Rumble where the results showed that he cannot wrestle anymore, per Wrestle Zone.

"It is with a heavy heart and utmost sadness that I announce my retirement. Today, when I woke up this morning I felt nothing but gratitude because I have gotten to do the things I loved for 16 years. Trust me, I don't want to be doing this anymore than you guys don't want me to be doing this," Bryan said as quoted by FOX Sports.

The former WWE World Heavyweight champion thanked all the fans that supported him as well as the people that helped him throughout his career. Bryan was also grateful for all the things that have happened during his time in the WWE and all the people he has met including Connor Michalek and his wife Brie Bella.
