Activists are asking Jennifer Lopez to cancel her show in Tel Aviv, Israel. The hashtag #CancelTelAviv was created together with the Twitter campaign to hopefully reach the singer-actress.

Al Arabiya reported that the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions movement featured graphic images of injured children in Palestine with the objective of sending a message to J Lo to have her Middle Eastern tour canceled.

According to Breitbart, pro-Palestinian activists are lambasting Lopez on social media. They are demanding that the star cancel her concert, and also questioning her true motives for holding such a performance in Tel Aviv. Some even accused Lopez of favoring their enemy by entertaining the murderers of their children. Many of the tweets include photos of children in Gaza who were injured and homes that were destroyed from attacks by Israel.

On the other hand, StandWithUs, an Israeli advocacy group, encouraged online users not to spread false information and hate towards the Jewish state. Emily Schrader, StandWithUs social media director, stated that in one case, an activist posted photos of conflicts in Africa while stating that these were from Gaza. She added that their main objective was to spam celebrities and ultimately have them cancel their performances. Previously, Elvis Costello and Lauryn Hill had their shows in Israel cancelled due to pressure. Jason Derulo, however, will most likely proceed with his debut performance in Israel in April 2016.

Thus far, the posts on the internet came from various anonymous users, but the pressure can add up and ultimately convince the star to cancel her trip altogether. The fans who support the concert have also been actively posting in social media sites to encourage Lopez to proceed with her plan.

Breitbart also revealed that the 46-year-old Lopez will do one show in Tel Aviv, which will be her first concert in front of an Israeli audience. There will also be other stars who will join her, including Julio Iglesias, Elton John, Megadeath, Deep Purple and SIA.

The Jerusalem Post said that the singer already confirmed that she will perform in Hayarkon Park in Tel Aviv. However, Lopez has yet to make the plan official. Previously, Lopez was eyeing a show in Tel Aviv in summer 2016. Lopez has been quite busy in the past few weeks, with new projects in development and her successful Las Vegas residency in January.

More updates and details on Jennifer Lopez and her Israel concert are expected soon.
