New York Knicks star Carmelo Anthony believes that the recent coaching change is something meant for the better good.

Anthony admitted that he was a bit surprised with the decision to fire Fisher though he trusts Phil Jackson on the move.

Kurt Rambis was named to take the place of Fisher, Anthony’s fourth coach since arriving in Gotham. With the frequency of changes happening in New York, the All Star forward admits that he has become immune to the trend.

"At this point, you become kind of immune to all the B.S. that goes on and the politics. You become immune to that. So my goal is to continue playing basketball, focus on the group of guys that I have in there and leave that faith to management, to the front office," said Anthony via ESPN.

Even before the firing of Fisher, Anthony’s name was linked to multiple trade rumors. In the same report, he made it clear that he has no plans of seeking a trade and will remain committed to the outlook and plans of Jackson.

For those who are unaware, the only way that Anthony could be dealt away is if he wants to be traded. He has three years left in his deal with the Knicks, which include a no-trade clause.

With Anthony on the same page, making the playoffs is one thing he has in mind.

Rambis laid down his cards to the team and stressed that the agenda right now is to make the playoffs. The Knicks are 23-32 as of this writing but are within striking distance to at least make the sixth to eighth spots in a highly competitive Eastern Conference.

“My goal every season is to try to get to the playoffs and try to win a championship, so I think Kurt [Rambis] is spot-on when he says that. That should be our goal as a team. It was our goal. It should be our goal now, remain our goal," said the All Star forward.

The Knicks played their first game under Rambis but the result was no different. New York fell to the Washington Wizards 111-108 (via ESPN), and the woes continue for the struggling quintet.

While the mood in the Knicks locker room may be tense for now, the Knicks will have to start getting their act together if they are indeed bent on making a run for a post-season seat.

The Knicks could do well to work on that with the All Star break. The Knicks don’t play again until February 19 when they visit the Brooklyn Nets.
