The lineup of Xbox One backward compatibility continues to expand to great proportions. Four additional games are now confirmed as part of the impressive collection of Xbox 360 titles that are playable on the current generation consoles.

According to a report from the official Major Nelson blog by Microsoft's Larry "Major Nelson" Hryb, the list of backward compatibility games got a boost with the addition of the four latest titles: "Lego Batman," "Alan Wake's American Nightmare," "Sam & Max: Beyond Time & Space" and "Trials HD."

Aside from the complete list of backward compatible titles, the post also included a host of useful information on the Xbox feature as well as a section for Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) and answers from the team. In this section, it was also revealed how new games are picked to be part of the backward compatibility collection.

"We're starting with some of the most popular and highest rated Xbox 360 titles," Hryb explained on the blog. "We're listening to our fans and working with our partners. We'll continue to update this page as more titles are added. Let us know which Xbox 360 games you're most excited to play on Xbox One by voting at the Xbox Feedback website."

Recently, the fans rejoiced at seeing fan favorite "Red Dead Redemption" on the list of backward compatible games. However, Microsoft soon took it down and explained that the leakage was an error, according to a report from Game Spot.

Hryb later took to Reddit to speak out on the issue directly saying, "Microsoft tests all Xbox 360 games with our [backwards compatibility] emulator to ensure a quality experience across a breadth of titles. Due to an error, some of the games currently in test were accidentally made available. We have since removed access to those games, and apologize for any confusion this may have caused. We will have more information on upcoming releases soon."

The fans who have tried out the game that was accidentally released have expressed their impressions of the game, which were mostly positive. The Western-inspired "Red Dead Redemption" reportedly performed well technically even if the gaming experience was limited due to its unofficial and accidental release.

Although the players might be disappointed with the pulled back "Red Dead Redemption," another cool game is in the works for Xbox One soon. According to a report from Gotta Be Mobile, Square Enix confirmed that it has cleared "Hitman: Absolution" for backward compatibility. They are not sure when Microsoft will be releasing the game.
