"Battlefield 5" may be returning to its militaristic roots by setting the game in World War I, according to rumors.

A slip-up from a Germain retail website World of Games reportedly listed "Battlefield 5" "Mehrspieler Taktik Shooter im 1. Weltkrieg," or "Multiplayer tactical shooter in World War 1," IGN reports. During that time, the release date for the game has been listed to be October 26 of this year. It is reportedly available for the PC, PS4 and Xbox One.

The original listing has since been updated to say "Mehrspieler Taktik Shooter" or "multiplayer tactical shooter" and the release date has been updated to say October 2016.

While working on the additional DLC and content for "Star Wars: Battlefront," DICE development director Dan Vaderlind confirmed on Twitter that there is another "Battlefield" game brewing. According to Hexus, the game was expected for "holiday 2016," which is similar to the German retailer's release date listing.

"Now that we've shipped Battlefront and a part of the team continues to work on it, I am moving on to another project, the next Battlefield..," Vanderlind said last year.

The "military-style" Battlefield game was actually hinted by Electronic Arts Chief Financial Officer Blake Jorgensen during the 2014 UBS Global Technology Conference, Game Rant reports. The outlet says that Jorgensen saw the gameplay and said it will be "fun, new Battlefield."

According to Lazy Gamer, many assumed that the speculation of "Battlefield" returning to old wars meant for it to be set in World War II as it was filled with heavy artillery and war machines. They think It is an odd decision seeing as WWII is easier to make games out of and more interesting than the one before it.

Forbes reports that the newest game will not be "historically accurate" as WW1 fights involved armed men sitting in trenches, getting hit when they go on top or being affected by mustard gas. However, the outlet said that the World War 1 setting could work if game tactics and team cooperation were involved. This could result in less first-player shooting and slow game play.

PC Authority hopes that there might be trench maps, as well several vehicles and armoured cars, like the French Renault tanks, British Male and Female tanks and the German A7V tank. Cavalry combat might even make it as well as motorcycles used by riders and scouts.
