When a fan tweeted to JK Rowling about rumors of the play "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child," the author said that the play will not be turned into a movie. She also revealed that "Fantastic Beasts and where to Find Them," however, will be a trilogy.

"You heard wrong, I'm afraid. #CursedChild is a play. #FantasticBeasts will be 3 movies, though," Rowling tweeted back.

According to Huffington Post, "Happy Potter and the Cursed Child" is a continuation of the 7 "Harry Potter" books. It will focus on Harry's adult life, including his marriage to Ginny Weasley, his children and the mystery of his parents, Lily and James Potter.

Additionally, the author also made clear that the play is not a prequel and that it is set 19 years later after the Battle of Hogwarts. The play will be transcribed into a book in order to give fans another chance to enjoy it, especially for those overseas or who cannot see the play. "#CursedChild A play in 2 parts, set #19yearslater. Will be published. Not a prequel. Not unearthly. Magical," she tweeted.

"Harry Potter and the Cursed Child," is the eighth official Potter story and is set to open in London on July 30 this year.

"Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" is the first movie of the planned trilogy. It stars Eddie Redmayne as the magizoologist Newt Scamander. The entire story is set 70 years before the start of the Harry Potter books.

Daily Mail reports that Director David Yates has stated that the first movie will focus on Scamander, sisters Queenie and Porpentina Goldenstein, as well as the muggle Jacob or no-maj, the term used in America. Joining Redmayne in the cast are Katherine Waterston, Alison Sudol Colin Farrel, Dan Fogler, Ezra Miller and more.

Daniel Radcliffe, most popular for his role as the titular Harry Potter, revealed his excitement for the spinoff movie.

"I can barely keep myself in this chair," Radcliffe told Entertainment Weekly. "Yes, I am very excited, but I've also been asked about it a lot, and I don't have any information to give, unfortunately."

When asked what advice Radcliffe can give to Redmayne in making the video, he declined and said Scamander's actor doesn't need any, and that there isn't "anything to live up to."

"You know, the Fantastic Beasts book is really cool, but it's a bestiary. I hope he's really enjoying it and not feeling too much pressure," Radcliffe said.

"Fantastic Beasts and where to Find Them" will be in US theaters on November 18.
