Some very interesting information about Apple's new iPhone has leaked  this time regarding the device's headphones.

According to a leak from a former Apple employee on the popular gossip app Secret, the new smartphone (presumed to be called the "iPhone 6") will come packaged with advanced headphones that can track heart rate and blood pressure, among other features.

As quoted by International Business Times, "Apple's new EarPods will have sensors in them, for heart rate & blood pressure. Also iBeacons so they don't get lost. They will require the lightning port, it's why the audio jack was moved to the bottom."

The anonymous poster went on to say, "It stores the data in a similar way to thumbprint point data, fully encrypted and nothing identifiable. But nice to send to your doctor to keep track of at which point your blood pressure started rising for example."

These claims are in no way confirmed, so it's important to take them with a grain of salt. However, the leak is consistent with a 2007 patent filed by Apple for "integrated sensors for tracking performance metrics."

The poster also said that the headphones may be fitted with a second mic for noise cancelation purposes. Noise-cancelling headphones use multiple microphones to target specific sounds, phasing out ambient noise such as car traffic and focusing in on the user's voice. Some versions even track facial vibrations to increase accuracy.

Apple had not yet confirmed a release date for their new device. Rumors claim that the new smartphone will feature a larger screen, slimmer profile and faster processor, along with a sapphire glass screen. According to the poster, we can look to see the next headphones around the time iOS 8 comes out, so that may be an indictator of when the iPhone 6 will drop as well.
