Project Runway isn't one of those reality shows renowned for showing tons of skin, and its contestants don't usually end up splashed across tabloid pages. But a new ad for the show featuring aspiring fashion designers is making headline, for being too sexy.

Officials in Los Angeles decided a billboard for the show featuring nude models prostrating themselves before host and supermodel Heidi Klum and advisor Tim Gunn was too racy for the streets of the City of Angels.

There's no explicit nudity in the ad, it's structly PG-13, but L.A is erring on the side of caution and deeming the ad to be obscene. At least, too obscene to be displayed all across the city's skyline. It would have given drivers stuck in traffic something to ogle, though.

Project Runway conceded to pressure and has pulled the ad, though a version with the models in underwear will go up in its place. If you're still hoping to get a glimpse, never fear. The ad will still go on display as planned in New York City. Klum also tweeted the photo, saying, ".@ProjectRunway Designers! We need clothing for these people! Fast! Season 12 starts July 18th on @lifetimetv!"

There will be plenty of clothing in the upcoming season of Project Runway, the show's 12th, which will air on the Lifetime network. While models make appearances dressed in whatever concoctions the deisgner contestants can come up with on short notice, there's rarely much skin flashing. Perhaps Project Runwy is just trying to compete with much more risque competition.
