The WWE was still in Texas when "SmackDown" taped its latest episode, which will feature the debut of former NXT Tag Team Champions.

Reigns Opens the Show

WWE World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns opened the Houston show to a mixed reaction. He delivered a promo that he isn't a bad guy or a good guy but "the guy." AJ Styles, who became the No 1 contender for Reigns' title during the last "Monday Night Raw," appeared and cut his own promo. Styles and Reigns both talk but no action occurs. The main event is then announced as Styles will team with Cesaro against Chris Jericho and Kevin Owens.

A "Manly" Debut

Former NXT Tag Team Champions The Vaudevillains made their main roster debut defeating, also, former NXT Tag Team Champions The Lucha Dragons. United States Champion Kalisto took the pin as The Vaudevillains won and celebrated, but are clearly the heels in the show.

Ushering A New Women's Division

New WWE Women's Champion Charlotte, with Ric Flair, was at the commentary booth for Natalya's match against Summer Rae. Natalya scored the win via the Sharpshooter and then had a staredown with Charlotte, but not physical action occurred.

Later in the show, Becky Lynch is interviewed backstage and speaks about the WWE Women's Championship but is confronted by Emma.

Intercontinental Championship

New Intercontinental Champion The Miz, who won the title during "Monday Night Raw," defeated former Intercontinental Champion Zack Ryder. Maryse, who returned to the main roster, interfered in the match, which allowed Miz to hit the Skull Crushing Finale on Ryder.

NXT Stars Continue to Make Their Presence Known

Apollo Crews, who made his debut during "Monday Night Raw," defeated Curtis Axel.

Backstage, fellow NXT alum and Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal winner Baron Corbin was interviewed and spoke about Dolph Ziggler, who did not compete on "SmackDown."

Ambrose's Next Challenger?

Dean Ambrose was next and defeated Tyler Breeze. After the match Chris Jericho appeared and stared at Ambrose.

Main Event

Cesaro and Styles defeated Owens and Jericho in the tag-team main event. Sami Zayn appeared and wanted to fight Owens but was held back by officials; this would allow Styles to pin the distracted Owens for the win. Owens had his revenge and attacked Zayn. The Dudley Boyz then surfaced to attack Styles until Reigns made the save. Styles and Reigns shook hands to end the show.

"WWE SmackDown" airs weekly on Thursdays on the USA Network at 8 p.m. EST.
