Things will continue to heat up in the last two episodes of "The Vampire Diaries" Season 5, starting with this Thursday's penultimate episode where Liv tries to kill Stefan and Elena, and Bonnie reveals a big secret.

In the upcoming installment, titled "Promised Land," Stefan and Elena will escape from Markos' control and find themselves stranded in a remote location. However, the wonder twins, Liv and Luke, will try to kill one of them. In the trailer video, Liv tells Luke that "We have to kill Stefan and Elena." Later in the promo, she uses her powers to flip "Stelena's" car. "I'm sorry," she then tells Elena, adding, "One of you has to die." Although Luke appears to be conflicted about this plot, it's unclear whether or not he will try to stop his sister.

The trailer also shows a scene where Markos declares that "The spell has already begun," which could be an indication that it's too late for the vampires to stop him and his band of Travelers.

The CW released another preview clip from "Promised Land" where Carolina talks about her plan to kill Tyler as a way to stop Julian, the Traveler who has taken control of his body. That's when Bonnie finally admits to her that she's been lying about the Other Side.

In addition to learning about the inevitable dark fate of the Other Side, Carolina will also witness "an unthinkable act of violence by one of the Travelers," which Wetpaint.com predicts is Julian.

"There's quite a lot of suffering and celebration in the last two episodes," Julie Plec recently teased in an interview with E!. "Because of Markos's efforts to make the town of Mystic Falls a magic-free zone and the imminent destruction of the Other Side, lots of lives are in jeopardy and Damon has to, as he says, 'strap on his hero hair.'"

Kat Graham, the actress who plays Bonnie on the popular sitcom, dropped a few spoilers about what to expect in the final two episodes. "Oh God, it's huge," she said, referring to the finale, reports E! News. "Everyone's going to be up in arms. We've had some pretty big season finales, but I would definitely have to say this is definitely one of the biggest we've had." Fans can expect a major death or two, but there's a twist, says Graham: "When aren't there big deaths? It's what happens with them that matters."

Executive producer Caroline Dries also hinted about the big finale, telling TVLine that Stefan and Elena will develop an "us-against-the-world" mentality as the Travelers fight for Mystic Falls. "They'll need to lean on this strong connection to get through it." Meanwhile, as Bonnie makes "brave choices" about the Other Side's big dilemma, Dries reminds us, "There's always a sacrifice, and her relationship with Jeremy will certainly be one of the things that complicates everything."

She also hinted that Stefan and Caroline's chemistry may grow into something more. "Our plan is to let this friendship evolve naturally and watch what happens when feelings start to emerge, ever so slowly, from one of them and how that begins to complicate things."

The synopsis for the "Promised Land" states: "When Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Elena (Nina Dobrev) escape from Markos' (Raffi Barsoumian) control, only to find themselves stranded in a remote location, Stefan gets philosophical with Elena about her relationship with Damon.

"After their attempt to protect the dopplegangers goes badly, Liv (Penelope Mitchell) and Luke (Chris Brochu) come up with a dangerous new strategy, and Damon recruits Matt (Zach Roerig) and Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) to help him set a trap for Markos, who turns out to have a devastating surprise of his own.

"Bonnie (Kat Graham) finally admits to Caroline (Candice Accola) that she's been keeping the truth about the Other Side from everyone. And while Bonnie searches desperately for a way to stop Markos, Caroline is witness to an unthinkable act of violence by one of the Travelers."

"The Vampire Diaries" S5E21, "Promised Land," airs on the CW on Thursday, May 9 at 8 p.m. EDT.
