After a week where she reportedly refused to appear on air alongside co-host Michael Strahan following his surprise announcement that he soon plans to bolt their show, Kelly Ripa is expected to return to "Live! With Kelly and Michael" airwaves over the next several days.

"They're both expected to be there Tuesday," a source told People magazine.

Word is Ripa sent an email to her staff on Friday, April 22, 2016 alerting them to her plans.

Ripa Plots Return

"Sorry for this late Friday night email," she wrote. "I wanted to thank you all for giving me the time to process this new information. Your kindness, support, and love has overwhelmed me. We are a family and I look forward to seeing you all on Tuesday morning. Love, Kelly."

It's still up to debate if Ripa still considers Strahan part of the extended family she pays homage to in her words.

Reports are she was "completely blindsided" by his announcement that he was leaving his somewhere in the neighborhood of $10 million per year "Live" gig behind to join sister show "Good Morning America" on a full-time and much more lucrative basis. People Magazine reports that Strahan could be making double the money on GMA, approximately $20 million.

So shaken by this sudden change, sources close to "Live" were once predicting the two would never be seen on the show's stage again.

"He has been reaching out to her," a source said of Strahan, who took the additional step of thanking Ripa on air for welcoming him to the show and teaching him the ropes. "He wants her to come back," the source added.

But it all seems to be falling on deaf ears with Ripa, at least when it comes to all the warm words being voiced by Strahan.

"She is feeling so hurt and betrayed on so many levels," said a source described as close to the 45-year-old star, adding that she particularly feels hurt and betrayed by the former NFL star.

"She was [Strahan's] champion," the source added of the way she went to bat for him when Regis Philbin announced he was leaving the show back in 2011. "She pushed for him to get the gig in the first place."

Word is after Philbin's exit, Ripa spent much time contemplating who she felt would be best for the show over the long haul and ultimately settled on and pushed for Strahan.

"She wanted the same kind of partnership she had with Regis," a source added of her settling on the partnership with Strahan she came to regret. "The minute he got in that seat he started acting like he was the biggest star on the planet,"

Replacements that Could Work - Opinion

Among those capable of replacing Strahan are Anderson Cooper, Andy Cohen, Neil Patrick Harris, Mario Lopez, Peyton Manning, Charles Barkley, Alec Baldwin, Keith Olbermann, Taye Diggs and more.
