The huge night is ahead for hockey fans tonight. A pair of second round playoff games in both the Eastern and western Conference will take place.

The first game is between the Boston Bruins and Montreal Canadiens. The Canadiens lead the series 2-1 after three games and game four will be played in Montreal. This is a must win for the Bruins; falling down 3-1 in the series is extremely hard to recover from. The Canadiens won game one in thrilling fashion 4-3 in double overtime. Game two, the Bruins would rebound by winning 5-3 at home in Boston. In game three, Cary Price stopped 26 of 28 shots, leading the Canadiens to a 4-2 victory.

With elimination of the Toronto Raptors from the NBA playoffs and Major League Baseball season still in May, the Candiens are the most popular sports team in Canada. The Bruins eliminated the Detroit Red Wings in the first round of the playoffs and are looking to win their seventh Stanley Cup Championship. Unfortunately for the Bruins, they must win multiple games in Montreal. Game four begins at 7:30 p.m. Eastern time.

The second game that will be played is between the Anaheim Ducks and the Los Angeles Kings. The Ducks are in a really bad position heading into game three. The Kings currently lead the series 2-0 after defeating the Ducks in both games one and two at Anaheim. In order for the Ducks to get even, they must now win back-to-back games in Los Angeles. Not impossible but very unlikely. The Kings won game one 2-1 in overtime after Marian Gaborik scored to break the tie. Game two was a nail-biter going down to the wire. With the score just 2-1, Kings left winger Dwight King scored an empty-netter to seal the deal. With the Clippers in the second round of the playoffs as well, Los Angeles fans get a daily feast of playoff sporting events.

Game three begins at 9:30 p.m. Eastern time.

All four of these teams are playing for a chance to go to the conference finals, the third round. The winner of the Bruins and Canadiens series will face off against the Penguins and Rangers series. The winner of the Kings and Ducks series will take on the winner of the Wild Blackhawks series. Home-ice advantage doesn't appear to be having a huge effect this postseason, so anything is possible going forward.
