With NBA summer free agency winding to a close, Lance Stephenson still finds himself at a crossroads.

Depending on who you ask, some say the 25-year veteran swing-man rates as the most attractive free agent still on the market that is actually obtainable while others view Stephenson as the one player that no general manager (GM) or coach wants to see anywhere near their locker room, come training camp.

Stephenson's Wild Season

Stephenson's uneven 2015-16 season speak to his unpredictable nature. After obtaining him from the Charlotte Hornets, the L.A. Clippers dealt him to the Memphis Grizzlies halfway through the season after finding that he didn't seem able to click on the floor or in the locker-room with the Clips.

As part of the Grizzlies, Stephenson seemed to resort back to his "Good Lance" nature, averaging 14 points, four rebounds and three assists over 26 games.

It's all lead to a hung jury among NBA GMs as to what to make of Lance Stephenson and the question of whether he deserves another chance at NBA stardom.

Stephenson isn't the only one-time veteran mainstay hoping for a shot at redemption via the free agency route.

Ty Lawson, Mario Chalmers and Thomas Robinson have a combined 20 seasons of NBA experience between them, with Lawson perhaps having the most to prove and the best requisite skill set to do it.

He was twice suspended by the Rockets during the 2015-16 following DUI related incidents and was ultimately bought out by then. He signed for the final 13 games of the regular season with the Indiana Pacers.

At the height of his playing career, Lawson averaged 17 points and eight assists over a three season stretch with the Nuggets that commenced in 2011.

When Will LeBron Resign?

In Cleveland, both LeBron James and J.R. Smith are still technically free agents, but it's almost a foregone conclusion that both players will eventually re-up with the world champs.

James is rumored to be waiting to sign his new deal to allow the Cavs' the best chance of making the kinds of tweaks he feels they'll need to defend their NBA crown.

With the Golden State Warriors having now added Kevin Durant to form a Big 4 of Durant, Steph Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green things figure to be as hard as ever for the Cavs.

Cleveland has already added veteran additions Mike Dunleavy and Chris "Birdman" Andersen.
