The long anticipated Rio Olympic showdown between Team USA and France has grown to be even a bit more intriguing given the American's last eight quarters of play. That's how long Team USA has been embroiled in a stretch of uneven, disjointed play that has seen the NBA star laden team win its last two games (vs. Serbia & Spain) by just a combined 13 points.

Streak in Danger?

The Americans streak of 49 straight wins in international play remains intact, but to be sure not many of the victories have been more trickier that the last two over Australia and Serbia.

Tipoff against France is Sunday at 12:15 p.m. ET on NBC. You can watch a live stream by visiting Rio2016.com.

"We do have more talent," said U.S. coach Mike Krzyzewski. "We have to get our talent playing even much better as a team."

Things won't get any easier on Sunday against France, a team that boasts the NBA likes of Tony Parker, Nicholas Batum, Boris Diaw and Rudy Gobert.

Against Serbia, Kyrie Irving led the way for Team USA with 15 points and Kevin Durant and Carmelo Anthony chipped in with 12 apiece. Despite all the apparent balance, the Americans have been clearly lacking in chemistry over their last two games.

Chemistry Needed

"Once again, we relied on natural talent," said Indiana Pacers star forward Paul George. "This is why these guys are special in our league. These international guys really know how to move and really know how to cut. It's more about how they're running their offense. It's wearing us down. It's like they don't get tired."

The narrow wins over Australia and Serbia represent just the sixth time the Americans have won by 10 points or fewer over the last decade.

"We got in our own heads," Durant added of the Serbia game. "We had a great start, great start. We were up almost 20 points. We should have held the lead and we just got sidetracked by stupid stuff, from the calls to the physicality, the extra plays. We got to stay with it. That's the way it's going to be out here."
