Start Time: 6:00 p.m. ET
Other Matches Played Today: Serbia vs. France - 1:15 p.m. ET, Venezuela vs. China - 9:30 p.m. ET

Team USA comes into battle having won their first two games by average of 48 points. The Americans figure to work up much more of a sweat against the Boomers, given all the twisting subplots that abound.

The Rosters - USA vs. Australia

Subplots Everywhere

For one, former Cleveland Cavaliers teammates Kyrie Irving and Matthew Dellavedova will find themselves in the same gym for the first time since they claimed the NBA title back in June alongside LeBron James.

Only this time, the two will be wearing opposite uniforms and reading from a different playbook. Then there's the Aussie front-court tandem of Bogut and Baynes, a duo that has proven to be so bruising that Serbia coach Sasha Djordjevic recently raved they are "second to none" in the entire tournament when it comes to intensity.

Bogut will also been coming face to face with former Golden State Warriors teammates Draymond Green and Klay Thompson for the first time since they squandered a 3-1 Finals' lead to the Cavs and he was dealt to Dallas to make room for Kevin Durant's arrival in Oakland.

And speaking of first rate, the USA veteran combination of Durant and Carmelo Anthony has been nothing less than that in sparking the Americans.

Durant on Fire

Leading the way has been Durant, who has shot a blistering 15 of 19 from the field in averaging a team-high 21 points and six assists. Anthony has chipped in with averages of 12 points and five rebounds and has emerged as the team's unquestioned leader.

Still, let former NBA center and current Aussie assistant Luc Longley tell it, his team definitely plans to show up come Wednesday evening.

"It's always possible, mate," Longely said of the prospect of Australia pulling off the upset. "There are no impossibilities in basketball."
