The announcement by The Department of Tourism that the Philippines will host the next 2016 Miss Universe pageant in January 30, 2017 . In the recent news many in the tourism sector believe thatwould be  another great year for the tourism industry in Philippines. As an organizer of a major international event, the Philippines will definitely set up a platform in their country for booming tourism industry.

Tourism Secretary Wanda Teo, has assured that under her leadership the department is ready to take the challenge .In a press conference, Wando Tulfo said her predecessor Secretary Ramon Jimenez's  set up the program and slogan "It's More Fun in the Philippines."

The highly popular event is watched all over the world by millions of people and is considered as a potential tourist attraction to the Philippines. It is expected that during the event itself, six Philippine destinations  will be assured of getting worldwide exposure: Davao City, hometown of President Rodrigo Duterte; Cagayan de Oro, hometown of Miss Universe 2016 Pia Wurtzbach; Boracay and Cebu in the Visayas; Vigan and Palawan in Mindanao.The finals will be held in Manila, capital city of the Philippines,reported by INQUIRER.NET

In order to increase awareness among the viewers, Philippines Tourism Department has reached limited markets in Europe ,North America and Asia with their slogans "it's More Fun in the Philippines."

For organized Miss Universe Pageant, the Philippine Tourism industry is very excited  over the opportunities that is open for them. Tourism stakeholders should take advantage of the media coverage  that will promote the Philippine as an exciting tourist destination.  According to a news report, Secretary Teo gave assurance to Filipinos that all $11 million funding will be volunteered by private firm.

Various Department of Tourism Offices all over the world will have an unprecedented efforts in promoting Philippines as a top tourist destinations. Tourism Secretary is hoping the Philippines will be the top most tourist destination with the help of government and  the private partnership.
