Those who dream of seeing Grand Theft Auto V in a new format have been disappointed time and time again. Whether it be on PC, PlayStation 4 or Xbox One, release date rumors have been as incorrect as they are constant for GTA V. Another hope remains, however: E3.

"Will they or won't they?" is the question gamers have in mind when it comes to new Grand Theft Auto V releases finally being announced. Some expect it to happen at the E3 conference which will be held from June 10-12 at the Los Angeles Convention Center. As far back as March, gamers began predicting that the conference would be the site of long-awaited Grand Theft Auto V reveal.

"Rockstar had something amazing to show [at March's Destination PlayStation event] but bailed at the last minute," Lokiolr, a Twitter user who describes himself as "Co-found of the Voice of Geeks Network Host of Orange Lounge Radio XBOX," said via DualShockers. "Expect and E3 announcement from them this year. Likely GTA V on nextgen."

In late April an "alleged" Rockstar Games employee said that the company would announce new versions of Grand Theft Auto V at E3 as well.

"The biggest confirmation was the alleged tweet of Rockstar programmer Todd Gilbert who claimed that Rockstar was really supposed to show the GTA V PC and PS3 version at Destination PlayStation," SportsKeeda.com reported. "It should be noted though that the alleged tweet was just a rumor, and that there are no records of a 'Todd Gilbert' in any Rockstar released game."

Some gamers are still keeping their fingers crossed.

"Grand Theft Auto V should ultimately be confirmed as one of the least kept secrets of E3 2014, with Rockstar expected to reveal Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC ports this year's show," International Digital Times predicted.

Naysayers, on the other hand, like to point out that Rockstar Games does not have a history of neither making such announcements at E3 nor even attending the event.

According to E3's official website, however, one company very closely involved with Grand Theft Auto V will be attending: Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc., Grand Theft Auto V's distributor. This week, the company released its results for fiscal year 2014

"The most exciting news for gamers, however, was that Rockstar will release a game in this financial year, which means before the end of March 2015," The Guardian reported. "Take-Two wouldn't be drawn on what it will be, or whether there will be an announcement at E3 ..."
