On Monday, the push to get new NBA/NHL arena that is built in Seattle's stadium district acquired a support from Russell Wilson, the Seahawks quarterback. Wilson is not just offering a support but he's is becoming an investor.

According to a lead investor, Chris Hansen says that they are thrilled to have Russell join their partnership in continuing efforts just to bring the NHL and NBA back to Seattle. He added that "As you are all aware, we have always kept our focus on doing this for the right reasons -- our love for our city, our love of basketball, and our belief that pro-sports have the ability to positively influence our youth and bring communities together in a way very few things in this world can."

According to NBA, Wilsons didn't reveal the details concerning the level of his investments but he sure brings the celebrity clout to a project that has already seen a progress compelling setbacks since it has first started five years ago. Hansen called Russell, "A smart, young, and passionate entrepreneur." Chris Hansen is a primary investor with the member of Nordstrom family and the former Seattle SuperSonics team president, Wally Walker who is a minority leader and part of the investment group.

Wilson said that he is blessed at the same time excited to make partners with Erik, Wally, Pete, and Chris and all the greatest fans in all the sports to bring the SODO arena to Seattle. He even added that there is no place like Emerald City. He then said that the positive impact has on the kids and the generations to come, bringing different cultures and people together that is what motivates and inspires him, Toronto Sun has reported.

Last month, Hansen announced his intentions to privately finance proposed project for in exchange tax breaks. The offer would have erased the public investment that was already part of the original 2012 memorandum of understanding between the city and Hansen.

Hansen's intent has acknowledged by the city and also open a request proposal for the possible renovation of the KeyArena (former home of the SuperSonics). The proposals will due in 2017. According to Coach Pete Carroll, he said that he was not surprised at all upon hearing Wilson's involvement because he loves his community and Pete thinks that he wanted to be part of something's really special.
