Nvidia has been well known for its unmatched range of graphics cards and processors. The company has also evolving technical innovations with other things since a long time now. The most recent addition seen in this range is its self-driving autonomous vehicle which received the green signal from California's Department of Motor Vehicle on December 8.

According to Tech Times, California DMV recently gave the permission to Nvidia for test driving its latest seld-driving stunner. Nvidia was also listed on the web page of California DMV among the brands which are working on autonomous technology for self- driving cars.

The list contains some of biggest names in car and heavy vehicle industry like Volkswagen, Mercedes-Benz, Tesla Motors alongside tech creators like Google and Baidu which have been developing next-gen tech oriented self-driving cars for a long time now.

As per The Verge,  Nvidia is also working on this autonomous vehicle technology since a long time. It has been putting efforts to put artificial intelligence in cars and other vehicles too. The company announced a computer vision system tailor-made for self-driving at the Consumer Electronics Show in 2015.

In CES 2016, it presented another step forward in this genre with an advanced Drive PX 2 platform, which is known to be the most powerful engine in the world to incorporate artificial intelligence.

Later, in September 2016, Nvidia announced that the Drive PX 2 will power the self-driving cars of Baidu. And now after getting the permission from California DMV it didn't waste much time in revealing it's self-driving masterpiece.

According to potential sources, the first snaps of an alleged self-driving vehicle reflecting Nvidia's name on it were captured on the Bay Area of California. It's said that the test drive for this self-driving car took place on the same day when Nvidia received the approval from the DMV authorities.

Nvidia also seems to uplift this autonomous technology with initiatives such as signing up as a partner in a self-driving car nano degree program offered by massive open online course company Udacity  It is also hinted that the company is also planning to launch more vehicles under the hud of self-driving equipped technology.
