It was recently reported that Apple will be having "All Curve Display" of its latest iPhone to be launched in 2017!

According to Mac Observer, Samsung's production capacity account for about half the total displays Apple needs each year. This may give way  whiOLED iPhone model being a subset of the company's smartphone production for the year. If so, it'll likely be a higher priced model. Alternately, Apple may have found a second supplier that can deliver the other 100 million display it will need.

Meawhile, according to Forbes report, the  OLED version of the new iPhone will all be curved as Apple ordered all plastic - not glass - from Samsung Display. South Korea's Samsung has the capacity of supplying a little less than 100 million units of curved OLED displays to Apple.

  • Plastic OLED has been used for curved panels for devices like the Galaxy S7 Edge, while glass OLED is typically used for flat panels.

  • LG Display --Apple's longtime LCD supplier, is currently working with Apple and Google to develop foldable panels for outward-folding smartphones. It reportedly aims to provide the foldable panels to Apple, Google and Microsoft in 2018.
