For the last two years, Thibaut Courtois has been the number one man at Atletico Madrid. However, he is not the property of the Spanish side but is simply on loan from English powerhouse Chelsea. Despite his solid situation in Spain, Courtois seems to be tired with Chelsea and is demanding that the team make a decision on his future.

"I know that [Atletico] want to make an effort [to sign me], but it depends on Chelsea, on what they want and how much they are going to ask," Courtois said, according to ESPN. "First my agent is going to talk with Chelsea to see when I can speak with someone there, and from there we can take another step.

Atletico manager Diego Simeone has stated that he would be willing to pay 26 million euros to Chelsea for Courtois' services, a massive sum for a keeper.

Courtois would not mind playing for Chelsea, but he has made it clear that he will not sit on the bench for most of the games. Chelsea's number one keeper is currently Petr Cech and he has been described by manager Jose Mourinho as the best keeper in the world. Moreover, Cech is only 31 years old, young by goaltending standards. This would indicate that Courtois would be likely to sit on the bench for a few years if he were to join Chelsea.

"It is not up to me to say I am going to be No. 1," Courtois said. "But neither do I want to go to a team and not play. I want to play, if not at Chelsea, then at another team."
