Ben Affleck was not pleased. He spent his time working on "The Batman" only to get left out at a new press release by Warner Bros. The company has announced that Matt Reeves will replace Ben Affleck in directing the movie.

But, as the press release was published, Affleck's name was not mentioned nor was he cited as the actor who played Batman. Rumors say that the "Justice League" star is ready to hang his cape and mask because he is really frustrated.

The Warner Bros. press release did not mention Ben Affleck and it's really very weird since the movie has been cast, IGN reported. The official announcement did not mention the actor's involvement in the film including his work as its previous director. Aside from Affleck, Geoff Johns, co-producer and co-writer for the movie was also not mentioned as well as Joe Manganiello who will be Deathstroke in "The Batman."

Ben Affleck mentioned in an interview before that it was really difficult for him to direct and at the same time concentrate on his character. This was one of the reasons why he decided to look for a partner as director. He talked about a director who will collaborate with him and swears that he is still part of "The Batman."

Meanwhile, it seems like Ben Affleck has put everything aside and welcomed Matt Reeves to the Batcave, Comic Book Movie reported. Yes, he posted on his Twitter account that he welcomes the new director on board as his replacement. Aside from his cheerful greeting, Affleck also posted a photo of him as "The Batman." It was unclear though if this image was from "Justice League" or from "Batman V Superman."

Matt Reeves said that he is incredibly honored and excited that he is now part of "The Batman." He plans to bring the epic character to life in a new take. Warner Bros. Pictures Group President and Chief Content Officer, Toby Emmerich said that Reeves is the perfect director that will guide "The Batman" through his next journey. Aside from "Dawn of the Planet of the Apes," Matt Reeves is also behind "Cloverfield," "Let Me In" and "The Yards."
