Deontay Wilder, the 31-year old American boxer went berserk on Saturday after knocking out Gerald Washington. In order to preserve his WBC heavyweight title, the professional athlete won over his opponent in a way that the champion is even scared of himself.

Wilder's technical lead over Gerald at Legacy Arena prompted him to share his thoughts where he discusses why he is referred as "The Bronze Bomber". Wilder came into the ring for the fourth time in his home state and third time in Legacy Arena, fighting for the WBC heavyweight championship reports USA Today

The outcome of the tough knockout resulted in Wilder's call for a press conference, sending chills up the spine. The champion expressed his fears of killing or seriously injuring his opponents within the ring.

After striking his 37 opponents, it might have come out naturally from Wilder's side as his apprehensions are escalating with every new challenge. "I really feel that way. This is no joke. The more experience I get, the more dangerous I become," reports Givemesport.

Wilder started off by saying how he carries himself as a gentleman out of the ring, but when it comes to the main segment, he shows no mercy. He also said that boxers and fighters make a lot of money out of it, but it is not a preferable, healthy way to live.

He also said that he is in love with boxing, but won't fancy to do it for long. The thought of hitting his opponents in the head by small gloves and seeing their eyes roll back makes him uncomfortable.

"The power is real," Wilder continued after the fight took a pause. His manager and trainer Jay Deas further poured in details and emphasized on his heightened power and strength.  "He's the only guy in the world who has four mitt men because of the damage he's done," Deas said.

Wilder is now scheduled to fight Bermane Stiverne following his win over Gerald. He would also like to unify the heavyweight division in a boxing challenge opposite WBO champion Joseph Parker.
