Newly acquired center Andrew Bogut didn't even make it through a minute of his debut with the Cavaliers, who are playing against the Miami Heat. Bogut broke his left leg right at the beginning of the second quarter and had to be assisted off the floor and to the Cavs locker room.

According to NBA.com, the 7-footer was unable to put any weight on his leg as he was helped by new teammates Tristan Thompson and James Jones, who moments earlier was cheering along with fans in Quicken Loans Arena when Bogut checked in for the first time. Bogut then went to a number of X-ray scans.

The Cavs said that initial X-rays have revealed a fractured left tibia. Bogut is currently at the Cleveland Clinic and is undergoing further tests. The 32-year-old Aussie sustained the injury at just 11:38 of the second quarter, just moments after taking to the floor for the very first time in his No. 6 jersey for the Cavs.

Bogut was on the perimeter guarding Heat player Okaro White when he went down, dropped to his back and laid on the floor while grabbing his leg in obvious excruciating pain before a trainer got to him.

Bogut has just recently signed with Cleveland last week, turning down several bigger contracts and more playing time to help the Cavs defend their NBA title. Bogut received a huge ovation from the crowd when he took the floor for the very first time with 36 seconds left in the first quarter and another one seconds later when he picked up a foul with the kind of physical play that the Cavs were expecting to get from him.

According to The Australian, the Cavaliers signed Bogut to a $385,000 contract for the rest of the season, adding him to beef up their front court. The team is still missing All-Star forward Kevin Love, who is still weeks away from returning from his recent knee surgery.
