BB Merah Putih, the company which is currently taking the responsibility of the right to manufacture and sell BlackBerry smartphones in Indonesia, launched the BlackBerry Aurora smartphone for the country. BlackBerry Aurora comes as a result of the partnership between two companies BB Merah Putih and BlackBerry, which was formed in September 2016 last year, which allows the former to manufacture and sell BlackBerry branded devices in Indonesia.

According to Digit Blackberry Aurora is running on Android 7.0 Nougat and has been officially announced in Indonesia. The smartphone is the first handset developed under BB Merah Putih's with brand licensing agreement with BlackBerry. BlackBerry signed an exclusive deal with BB Merah Putih back in September 2016. As far as specifications are concerned, it is a mid-range device with a design similar to DTEK series.

The smartphone sports a 5.5-inches 720p HD display which is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 425 chipset. The smartphone comes with 4GB RAM and 32GB expandable storage.The smartphone has already been made available since March 3 through pre-orders and will remain available till March 12 with local retailers at IDR 3,499,000. Notably, TCL holds the responsibility to manufacture and sell BlackBerry smartphones in most of the world barring select countries in Asia.

As per Gadgets 360 The smartphone has been made available in Black, Silver, and Gold colour variants. As far as optics concern, the BlackBerry Aurora packs with a 13-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel camera at front for taking selfies. the smartphone offers 4G LTE connectivity, GPS, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/ n. The device backed with a 3000mAh battery. It measures 152x76.8x8.5mm and weighs 178 grams.

The Aurora is the first BlackBerry-branded smartphone to offer dual-SIM support. The handset runs Android 7.0 Nougat based on BlackBerry's DTEK security suite and BlackBerry claims it to be the most secure version of Android ever.
