Non-Japanese fans of "Ultraman 80" can now enjoy

According to Anime Fandom Radio, Olympusat Inc.'s television channel TOKU has officially announced that it will air the original "Ultraman 80". TOKU confirmed with ANN that the series will be in Japanese with English subtitles.

As for the official plot synopsis of "Ultraman 80", Episode Alert notes, "Takeshi Yamato, a twenty-two-year-old young man lives a double life. During the daytime, he is a rookie but popular science teacher at a junior high school in Tokyo. But after school and on Sundays he works as a member of the elite UGM (Utility Government Members), an earth defense organization which tackles difficult situations such as alien invasion and attacks from monsters.

When the situation gets out of control, Takeshi transforms into a 50-meter tall mighty warrior, Ultraman 80 and knocks down a terrifying monster to save the day."

Aside from that, the series will have an upcoming theatrical film entitled "Gekijoban Ultraman Orb: Kizuna no Chikara, Okarishimasu!" (Translated: "Ultraman Orb the Movie: I'm Borrowing the Power of Your Bonds!"). "Ultraman Orb" is the latest entry in the Ultra series of tokusatsu TV shows by Tsuburaya Productions, will continue the heroic adventures of Gai Kurenai / Ultraman Orb.

In the film, Ultraman Orb must team up with the previous Ultra series heroes Ultraman Ginga, Ultraman Victory, and Ultraman X to save the Earth from the depredations of Murunau, an evil witch from outer space (played by comedian Oniyakko Tsubaki) who wishes to transform whatever pretty thing she fancies into her personal jewelry collection.

"Ultraman 80" is scheduled to premiere on Monday, March 27, 2017, at 7 p.m. EDT first and exclusive TOKU. The series will air from Monday to Friday.

"Ultraman 80" is produced by Tsuburaya Productions and directed by Koichi Takano, originally aired in Japan from 1980 to 1981, and ran for 50 episodes.
