It is not known yet if "Power Rangers 2" will be happening in the future but based on its box office performance, it seems likely. For those who don't know, the post-credit scene of the "Power Rangers" movie hinted at the appearance of a Green Ranger. Fans have been lobbying for the character to be female instead of male.

The post-credit scene for "Power Rangers" goes back to the detention hall of Angel Grove High School. A teacher calls out the name Tommy Oliver who fans know is the Green Ranger. Vanity Fair reports that instead of an actor, only a green jacket was shown. While some fans are convinced that the Green Ranger will be male in "Power Rangers 2," some reports say otherwise.

Dacre Montgomery who plays the Red Ranger in "Power Rangers" stated that the cast of the movie wants the Green Ranger to be a girl. This would even out the boys and girls in "Power Rangers 2" which in turn would fit the modern outlook that girls are just as important as boys.

The original Green Ranger actor Jason David Frank voiced in an interview with Comic Book that it doesn't matter if the new character will be a boy or a girl. He says that Haim Saban will do his best to make "Power Rangers 2" enjoyable for everyone.

The actor also expressed that he his having jitters about the upcoming Green Ranger for "Power Rangers 2" if it should become a sequel. Frank confessed his attachment to the character who he says is the "most popular" among all the rangers considering he is almost present in every "Power Rangers" franchise.
