Police arrested a 41-year-old man after Amie Harwick was found dead in her home early Saturday.

Amie Harwick, a well-known Hollywood sex therapist, was 38-years-old when she was found dead in her home with injuries consistent with a fall.

Police responded to a 911 call around 1:15 am. The call was about a woman screaming in Harwick's Hollywood Hills neighborhood.

Officers arrived on the scene and were met by Harwick's roommate who told officers the victim was being assaulted inside the home. According to the roommate, he jumped a wall after he left the house in order to call for police at his neighbor's.

Harwick was found lying beneath a third-story balcony, gravely injured and unresponsive.

The local fire department brought Harwick to the local hospital where she later died.

Investigators found evidence that showed a struggle inside the home, as well as forced entry into the property. Further investigation showed the killer entering and exiting the property.

Harwick had filed a restraining order against former boyfriend Gareth Pursehouse, but the order had expired.

Police said the victim had seen the man two weeks prior to her death.

Gareth Pursehouse was arrested outside his residence in Playa del Rey around 4:30 pm Saturday. Police booked Pursehouse on suspicion of murdering Amie Harwick. He is being held on a $2 million bail.
