What a game this promises to be. The No. 1 ranked team in the world and defending World Cup Champions Spain look to get back on track against Chile.

Spain

Spain was embarrassed by the Netherlands 5-1 in their opening game, making it the worst defeat by a defending champion in a World Cup opening game ever. The Netherlands lost to Spain in the 2010 World Cup, so this was revenge. Spain is the favored team against Chile, but many fans are worried they will see a repeat of the terrible defensive effort they recently witnessed.

Spanish goalkeeper and team captain Iker Casillas took much of the blame from Game 1. Casillas said afterwards, "I have not been up to par and I accept that. We have not been fortunate, starting with me. Now only we think about the next game." This is Casillas' fourth World Cup and he's had his ups and downs before. It's good to see him step up like the leader that he is.

Regardless, Spain still needs to find a way to defeat Chile on Wednesday. Fernando Torres and David Villa are the two most skilled scorers on this team and they will have a lot pressure on them moving forward. The middle of this team also needs to help the defense more often instead of getting caught on the front field too often.

Chile

For Chile, they've been underrated and this is the perfect situation to prove to everyone how good they really are. Spain comes in ranked No. 14, somehow even behind Greece. Chile got a nice 3-1 victory against a subpar Australian team that served as a warm-up game for Spain.

Chile has made good strides since the infamous Roberto Rojas fake injury incident, which ultimately led to players being banned and Chile being disqualified for the 1990 and 1994 World Cups.

Similar to Spain, the leadership comes from the net. Claudio Bravo will be captaining his third World Cup for the Chile. Head Coach Jorge Sampaoli has been managing various teams for years and he stresses balance. Alexis Sánchez scored the opening goal against Australia in the opener and as the team's best striker he will be the most guarded as well.

These two will play at the Estádio do Maracanã in Rio de Janeiro in front of 80,000 screaming fans. Start time is scheduled for 3 p.m. EDT on ESPN.
