One Direction fans are itching to get their hands on the famed group's third album, to be released before Christmas Day this year.

In a previous interview, Louis Tomlinson confirmed that the band has already begun recording their third album.

"We've already started recording the album; we started about a month ago. We've been writing and recording it while on tour. We are really happy with it. We don't want to rush it but it will be out for Christmas. We have the film coming out as well so we are all pretty shattered but we are all having a great time. We have had a week of this week before heading on to Europe for the tour," says Liam in a report by Perez Hilton.

There is still no official update from the band members regarding the exact release date of the album though. However, fans are more than thrilled to know that the band's third album will contain songs written by band members Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson.

Although they've written three songs for their previous album, Take Me Home, their work on the third album will be quite different. According to a report by The Sun, both Liam and Louis will be the main writers for their third album.

"Liam and I have been spending our days off writing. It will be interesting to hear what people make of it but you'll always get criticized," said Louis in the report.

"Everyone is entitled to their opinion but it's easy to hate One Direction," Harry added.

The band members have reportedly signed individual publishing deals as song writers according to a report. All five have signed a deal with song publishing company Fingate.

Being future song publishers, each member will be able write songs for other artists and request payment whenever their own songs are used in an ad and movies. Each member's new status will also allow them to release their very own tracks should they have plans of going solo.
