On her Twitter account last week, actress Raven-Symone exclaimed with joy, saying how proud she is of the government's move to legalize gay marriage.

Last month, the Supreme Court ruled the Defense of Marriage Act (DoMA) unconstitutional with a 5-4 vote. DoMa prevented the recognition of same sex marriages, which have already been legalized in some states. With other states like Rhode Island and Minnesota following suit, Symone -- who had been rumored to be gay -- expressed her happiness.

When asked if she was truly getting married, Symone released an official statement to E! News:

"I am very happy that gay marriage is opening up around the country and is being accepted. I was excited to hear today that more states legalized gay marriage. I, however am not currently getting married, but it is great to know I can now, should I wish to."

Symone's representative also shared the same sentiments saying, "Raven is not getting married. She was just supporting the fact that she heard on NPR that more states legalized gay marriage today."

The 27-year old actress was first rumored to be gay in May 2012 when reports from tabloid stated she was living together with openly gay "America's Next Top Model" contestant Azmarie Livingston. According to sources, Symone had hidden being gay for quite a long time before meeting Livingston through a common friend. It is said that they then started seeing each other and eventually, Livingston moved in with her in a condo unit in Manhattan.

When asked about her sexual orientation as well as confirmation if she was truly dating Livingston, she tweeted: "My sexual orientation is mine, and the person I'm datings to know. I'm not one for a public display of my life."
