Forbes has placed Colombian-American actress Sofia Vergara on the 57th spot for Most Powerful Women in 2015 and described her as one of the "world's highest-paid actresses."

Vergara started playing Gloria Delgado-Pritchett in the ABC comedy show "Modern Family" in 2009. Since then, she has become one of the most paid television actresses in history, according to The Things.

In 2020, Vergara became one of the highest-paid actresses in Hollywood, with earnings of $43 million for that year alone.

Sofia Vergara reportedly earned $30,000 per episode of the "Modern Family" from seasons one to three between 2009 and 2011, which equates to around $2.6 million total for the three seasons.

For seasons 4 and 5, she earned $90,000 per episode, amounting to roughly $5 million in total. According to Celebrity Net Worth, Vergara's earnings increased to $190,000 for each episode from 2014 to 2018, totaling around $4 million per season. Her salary grew to $500,000 per episode in 2018, which was about $10 million in total per season.

A huge part of her wealth comes from her television roles, most notably through "Modern Family." In 2012, she earned $19 million in that year alone, paving the way in making her the highest-earning actress on television.

Vergara said in an earlier interview that she saves way more than she spends, adding that she invests and plans for the future.

The Colombian-American icon said it was "fun to shock people with my business ideas" as most people only see her as Gloria, referring to her feisty and fun-loving "Modern Family" character.
