Eva Mendes defended her partner Ryan Gosling after fans mocked his white-blonde hair for his role as Ken in the upcoming "Barbie" movie.

According to Daily Mail, the 48-year-old actress, who is of Cuban descent, addressed the issue during the episode of "The Talk" on Tuesday, when her co-host Natalie Morales mentioned the backlash.

"Yeah, well, people do know he's not playing a real person, right? He's playing a fake person," Mendes responded.

Mendes further noted that the first photo of Gosling as Ken in the "Barbie" movie was funny, and her partner was trying to be funny, so for her, "it worked on all levels."

Mendes defended her partner a day after Gosling was placed under scrutiny for his blonde hair. Fans were quick to react on Twitter, attacking the actor after his first character photo from the "Barbie" movie was released online.

One user posted a GIF of an animated Ken, emphasizing that the doll had brown hair.

Another "Barbie" fan also pointed out why Gosling was not suited for the role.

"The Barbie movie is gonna be incredible but Ryan Gosling is NOT Ken. He doesn't look like a Ken and the blonde hair is bad. His facial structure is absolutely not a Ken structure," the fan noted.

Another Twitter user agreed that Gosling was not the perfect actor to play Ken's role in the "Barbie" movie.

"I'm sorry but Ryan Gosling as Ken isnt for me. His bleached hair really is a bad fit," the netizen said.

"Well first of all, I saw the photo, and the 14-year-old in me was like, 'Ahhh'," Mendes noted, adding that she was so taken by Gosling's transformation into the beloved Mattel doll that she asked if she could keep a piece of his costume.

The actress then revealed that she asked for the underwear that Ryan Gosling was wearing in the photo, and his partner was more than happy to hand over his Ken doll drawers.

"Anyways, I do have it. I'm wearing it right now. There was something about the image that sparked my little teenage [self]," Eva Mendes noted.
