Jwan Yosef and Martin had been going through a tough time recently as the Puerto Rican singer has been accused of incest and abuse in a domestic violence case filed by his 21-year-old nephew, Dennis Yadiel Sanchez.

The nephew previously claimed that he had a romantic relationship with his uncle for seven months, and they broke up two months ago. He also claimed that Martin had been harassing him after the breakup.

Because of these claims, a Puerto Rican judge issued a restraining order against Martin in accordance with the country's domestic violence law.

However, the judge dismissed Sanchez's harassment lawsuit earlier this week after the young man decided to drop the case. Sanchez is reportedly the son of Ricky Martin's stepsister.

Ricky Martin Shares a Message to His Nephew After Dismissal of Harassment Case

Ricky Martin opened up about his feelings after the harassment case was dropped. In a video published by TMZ this week, the "She Bangs" singer said he needed to talk so he could start his "healing process."

The Latin pop star noted that he was not allowed to defend himself for two weeks because he was following a legal procedure that obligated him not to talk until he was in front of a judge.

"Thank god these claims were proven to be false... It has been so painful, it has been devastating for me, for my family, for my friends. I don't wish this upon anybody," Martin noted.

Martin then addressed his accuser, stating that he wished the person "claiming this nonsense" finds help so he can start a "new life filled with love and truth and joy." The singer also wished that his accuser would not hurt anybody else.

Finally, the Puerto Rican singer thanked his fans, whom he said have always believed in him. He added that he will "heal" through music.

Ricky Martin Nephew's Incest and Domestic Violence Claims

The court in Puerto Rico handling the harassment case has already "archived" the restraining order issued against Ricky Martin, meaning the case was closed.

A judicial spokesperson told The Associated Press earlier this week that the accuser ceased his claims voluntarily, so the case was archived, and no further procedures are required.

Because of this, Martin's attorneys told Page Six that the court did not extend Dennis Yadiel Sanchez's temporary protection order just as they had "anticipated."

In a joint statement, the lawyers said the accuser told the court that his decision to drop the case was his alone, "without any outside influence or pressure." the Puerto Rican superstar's nephew also stated that he was satisfied with his legal representation.

The name of the petitioner of the restraining order has not been named. However, Eric Martin, the Puerto Rican singer's brother, revealed that the complainant was their nephew, Sanchez.

According to Sanchez, Martin did not agree to their separation, calling him frequently. The young man also alleged that the Puerto Rican singer loitered around his residence on at least three occasions, for which "the petitioner fears for his safety."

He added that Martin has been consuming large amounts of alcohol and drugs. The restraining order issued to Martin prevented him from contacting the petitioner in person or over the phone.

The domestic abuse restraining order also directed the singer to refrain from "approaching, harassing, intimidating, threatening," or in any way interferes with the petitioner. Martin's representatives had said the accusations were not true and were "completely false and fabricated."

Ricky Martin has been married to artist Jwan Yosef since 2017. They share four children: 13-year-old twins Matteo and Valentino, 3-year-old Lucia, and Renn, also 3.
