Puerto Rican singer-songwriter Ricky Martin has filed a lawsuit against his nephew who accused him of sexual abuse. The lawsuit asks for a $20 million compensation for the singer's losses.

TMZ reported that Martin said he has been "persecuted, besieged, harassed, stalked, and extorted by a maladjusted person. He further claims that his nephew, Dennis Yadiel Sanchez, is trying to "assassinate" his reputation.

Sanchez had alleged in July that he had a seven-month romantic relationship with the Puerto Rican singer, adding that Martin had started stalking and harassing him when it ended. Martin said that it was "patently false."

Sanchez had filed a restraining order but withdrew the whole thing later on.

Martin claimed that despite withdrawing the restraining order, his nephew has not stooped and threatened him to "assassinate his reputation and integrity" unless he pays him cash.

Martin noted that Sanchez was publicly boasting about being Martin's nephew before filing the restraining order. The singer added that his nephew sometimes spammed him with messages with more than 10 in a single day for four months.

Ricky Martin $20 Million Lawsuit Against Nephew

Ricky Martin noted that he has lost multimillion-dollar deals due to the allegations against him. He is now seeking $20 million as compensation for the damages. The lawsuit also added that the singer was left feeling "unsafe" in Puerto Rico, according to a New York Post report.

Martin has called the allegations against him to be "devastating" for him and his loved ones, adding that he would not wish it upon anybody. The singer then said that he wishes his nephew the best and he wishes that he "finds the help so he can start a new life filled with love and truth and joy."

Martin wants the judge to order Sanchez to refrain from all communications with the singer and his family.

Sexual Abuse Allegations Against Ricky Martin

Sanchez is the son of Martin's half-sister, Vanessa. He has denied the allegations through his lawyer at the time.

Martin's lawyer, Marty Singer, said that his client has never been and would never be involved "in any kind of sexual or romantic relationship with nephew," as reported by BuzzFeed News.

The lawyer added that the idea is not only false but "it is disgusting." Martin's attorneys had stood firm on their claims that Sanchez had made the accusations because he is a "troubled individual."

The statement also noted that they had anticipated that the temporary restraining order was not extended by the court.

Martin's brother also alleged him of having exercised "physical and psychological attacks" on Sanchez.

Page Six noted that the earlier claims of domestic violence were "completely false and fabricated."

Martin noted on July 3 in a statement that he cannot make detailed statements at the time as it is an ongoing legal matter.

Martin could face up to 50 years in prison for the incest claims of that were proven true, as stated under Puerto Rican law.
