An Indiana woman who killed the father of her daughter by poisoning his oatmeal and strangling him with his favorite tie in January 2021 was sentenced to 115 years in prison, according to NBC news.

The records from the Hamilton Superior Court said that Heidi Marie Littlefield, 42, was given a sentence of 60 years for murder and 55 years for conspiracy to commit murder.

Indiana Woman Tried To Kill Victim Several Times

After a seven-day jury trial in Hamilton County, Littlefield was found guilty of murder and two felony charges of conspiracy to kill on Tuesday.

IndyStar noted that Littlefield's primary accomplice, her daughter Logan Runyon, presented incriminating testimony during the trial.

Between October 2020 and January 2021, Littlefield was suspected of plotting several murder attempts against Francis Kelley.

According to authorities, Kelley was the father of Runyon. Littlefield and Runyon were in a custody battle for their 2-year-old daughter at the time of the homicide.

Littlefield and 23-year-old Runyon allegedly worked together to buy fentanyl from drug dealers in Ohio. She then asked her daughter to sneak into Kelley's house and mix the powerful opiate into his almond-topped oatmeal.

They once placed fentanyl in his takeaway miso soup. They poisoned his food three times in total, according to Runyon.

Runyon testified in court that they broke into Kelley's Carmel home on January 15, 2021, the day after the third incident, and found him face-down on the floor. He was gasping for breath.

Runyon claimed that Littlefield asked to break Kelley's neck. However, she claimed Kelley was too heavy, so she could not.

Littlefield reportedly went upstairs to get his favorite necktie, returned downstairs, and used it to strangle him.

Three days later, Carmel police located Kelley. His death was ruled homicide, and strangulation was identified as the cause of death.

Indiana Woman Pays Daughter's Boyfriend To Find a Hitman

Robert Walker, another conspirator and Runyon's boyfriend, was arrested on a warrant in Ohio in March 2021. He told Carmel Police Department detectives he planned to tell them about Littlefield and Runyon's role in Kelley's death.

Walker claims Littlefield paid him $2,500 to hire a hitman to kill Kelley. He also claimed he had no intention of honoring his promise and spent the money on drugs instead, Local Today reported.

Walker says that Littlefield talked about killing her "baby's daddy" because "she would be failing her daughter if (Kelley) didn't end up dead."

Walker even said that the Indiana woman asked her daughter if she wanted to take the fall and asked if she was "cool with going to prison for the rest of her life."

He also said that Runyon is the one who told him what happened to Kelley's home, detailing Kelley's death to investigators.

Meanwhile, Runyon pleaded guilty to conspiracy to murder in March and was given 26 years in prison as a result.

A murder charge against Runyon was dropped. She agreed to testify against her mother as part of her plea deal.
