CBS News has confirmed the authenticity of data from Hunter Biden's laptop after it commissioned an independent review.

The lawyer for the Delaware computer repair shop owner, Brian Della Rocca, reportedly provided the media outlet with what he described as an "exact copy" of the laptop data, which was given to federal investigators almost three years ago.

CBS reported that two cyber investigators from Minneapolis-based Computer Forensics Services found in their independent analysis no evidence that the user data had been modified, fabricated, or tampered with.

Former Secret Service member and computer forensics expert Mark Lanterman and his son Sean Lanterman also did not find any new files originating after April 2019 when store records indicate President Joe Biden's son dropped it off for repair.

The data in Hunter's laptop and bank records are at the center of the brewing Republican-led House probe into Biden family businesses.

In a statement, Hunter's attorney Christopher Clark said that "there have been multiple attempts to hack, infect, distort, and peddle misinformation" regarding the president son's devices and data.

The lawyer noted that there are "ongoing efforts to utilize the infected and distorted data to spread disinformation." He added that no individual has been given consent by Hunter to "access his computer data or share it with others."

However, the lawyer did not address questions on specific data, documents, and personal identification analyzed for the independent review of CBS News. The Lantermans had independently verified the laptop and said there was no evidence of external tampering.

CBS News Review on Hunter Biden Laptop

Sean Lanterman, the company's incident response director, told CBS News that there was a huge amount of data on Hunter Biden's laptop accumulated over time that is personal in nature.

He said it included photos, videos, personal documents, text messages, emails, and voicemails from the user profile data. The audit reportedly showed more than 120,000 emails and 30,000 text messages.

"And just the sheer volume of what we're dealing with it would be difficult, if not impossible, to fabricate," Sean noted. Mark Lanterman also told the outlet that he believes the data was created by the president's son.

"I have no doubt in my mind that this data was created by Hunter Biden, and that it came from a computer under Mr. Biden's control," he noted.

In March 2021, Daily Mail has confirmed the authenticity of the laptop. The outlet was reportedly the first news organization to publicly verify its contents by hiring top cyber forensics experts from Maryman & Associates that examine the data in the hard drive to determine its authenticity.

Multiple media outlets and social media companies ignored the laptop's contents. After an extensive analysis of the data, experts at Maryman & Associates confirmed that the data appears to be authentic and had no evidence that suggested that the data were altered or manufactured.

The emails for multiple accounts on the laptop dated back to 2009, with other data appearing to be related to Biden between 2016 and 2019. There was also a Gmail address used to log onto sex cam sites, and another Gmail address belonging to Hunter Biden.

Hunter Biden Laptop

Delaware computer repairman John Paul Mac Isaac had come to get Hunter Biden's laptop when it was left at his shop in April 2019 and was asked to recover any data.

Mac Isaac said the man who had given the laptop had come to his shop twice but never returned to retrieve the computer or an external hard drive on which its contents had been stored.

The repair shop owner noted that he was not sure whether the man who came to his shop was Hunter. But the man, when asked to fill out a work order, identified himself as Hunter Biden.

When no one retrieved the laptop's computer or external drive, Mac Isaac then contacted the Federal Bureau of Investigation as he started being scared for his safety as he knew what was on the laptop.

The agents then gave him a receipt for what they took. The documents found on Hunter's laptop described the deals he had and how fast he spent his money.

Data on his hard drive showed that he spent more than $200,000 per month from October 2017 through February 2018 on luxury rooms, Porsche payments, dental work, and cash withdrawals.

Some of the laptop's contents also allegedly include Joe Biden's involvement in his son's business ventures. Hunter was being investigated by the Justice Department over his finances, including some of his business dealings in China.

Hunter Biden and his father were frequently accused by former President Donald Trump and his associates of wrongdoing with regard to China and Ukraine during the 2020 election campaign. Both allegations were denied, with Joe Biden telling a reporter at the time that it was a "smear campaign."
