Rob Ford has at least one supporter: Charlie Sheen.

The former star of "Two and a Half Men" struggled with his own drug problems, which forced him off the show in 2011. He bounced back and is now starring in "Anger Management."

"He's the mayor, he got that far," Sheen said, according to the Toronto Sun.

Sheen is "absolutely" sure that after a stint in rehab that Ford can continue as mayor. On April 30, Ford announced he was taking a leave of absence.

Sheen said he had never met the mayor, though stories have linked the two together before. He said that he's tweeted his support of him, and that he's sure the two would get along well. Sheen even apologized for the "media cesspool" that was trying to say they were basically the same person.

"He seems like a good man," Sheen said. "He's tough as nails from what I can tell."

The 48-year-old actor spoke about Ford at a red carpet event for a charity that had raised about $1 million for the Children's Aid Society. He said that being present at the event was a "moral obligation."

"Any time you can lend your name and your image and, you know, raise awareness for a foundation like this, it's an obligation as far as I'm concerned," he explained.

Sheen recently explained his disappointment at trying to meet Rihanna.

The singer snubbed him and his fiancee, and he felt she was far too rude.

"You see THIS is the reason that I ALWAYS take the time. THIS is why I'm in this thing 31 awesome years," he said. "Good will and common courtesy, carefully established over time to exist radically in concert with a code of gratitude!," he wrote before adding, "I guess 'Talk That Talk' was just a big ol lie from a big ol liar."
