In his heyday, Antonio Banderas was one of the most sought-after action stars in the world. He appeared in big-budget Hollywood blockbusters like The Mask of Zorro and Desperado to critically-acclaimed Spanish language films.

His role as an animated cat wearing boots made it clear that he was an exceptionally talented actor who could do a little bit of everything.

"Puss in Boots: The Last Wish," which was released in theaters last month, sees Banderas return as the titular hero Puss in Boots or simply Puss.

While it was not able to dethrone "Avatar: The Way of Water's" staggering numbers at the box office, "Puss in Boots: The Last Wish" continues to put in some big numbers despite the heavy competition.

According to Collider, Banderas' movie brought over $33.2 million in the three-day weekend across 78 regions. These are global numbers, and it is now in its fourth weekend since it premiered in December.
