Danny Trejo has been known for his roles in notable films "Desperado," Heat," and "Spy Kids." He also starred in the film series "From Dusk Till Dawn."

The actor reportedly filed for bankruptcy in February to help deal with a $2 million tax bill, according to The Press.

Trejo said that he is in the middle of reorganizing his assets after he "mistakenly claimed deductions for years." The bankruptcy Trejo filed was referred to as "reorganization bankruptcy," which allows the company to stay active while it rebuilds itself.

The incident was first reported by TMZ, with the outlet noting that Trejo had been mistakenly claiming deductions over the years "that caught up with him."

The outlet added that the actor jokingly told them that he learned that "dog grooming" is not an eligible expense you can write off.

Trejo has several enterprises, which are owned by corporations and LLCs he created to operate those.

Aside from Trejo's Tacos, Trejo also serves food through Trejo's Cantina. Both restaurants used plant-based Beyond Meat.

Trejo says in a Food and Wine feature that the plant-based meat they use "tastes just like meat."

He started Trejo's Tacos as he wanted to address the unhealthy eating habits around the country, citing how "real, big businesses don't give a shit" about children.

The actor-turned-restaurateur said that he has seen a lot of "smart kids" eating their Trejo's meals, referring to their one restaurant across the street from USC, and described the customers there as "the happiest kids" he has ever met.

Trejo also noted how he sees Latino and African-American children that are obese. The actor has had a fair share of health issues, such as liver cancer and bleeding in his brain.

The Mexican-American actor believes that his diet has helped him recover.

Trejo's Tacos also offer plenty of vegan options, such as tacos with cauliflower, young jackfruit, and asada-style mushrooms.

In addition, there is no lard in the tortillas, beans, and rice.

Trejo also released a cookbook, with his own lines of hot sauce and coffee being sold at his own restaurants.
