Minnesota Vikings star KJ Osborn can now be called a hero, not because he helped win a crucial game for his team, but because he and three others helped save a man's life in Texas. The NFL player assisted in pulling the man from a burning car.

He was not the only man to help the victim escape what could have been a fiery death, but the Vikings star was lauded for his heroism that was on display on Sunday night in Austin, Texas, according to NBC News.

Osborn posted about the incident on social media, writing, "Most of the time the saying goes 'wrong place wrong time," and added, "But this time I believe God had me, us, at the right place at the exact right time."

KJ Osborn Was Travelling Home When Texas Accident Took Place

Osborn appeared on ESPN's Adam Schefter's podcast and spoke about what happened that night. He stated that he was on his way home in Austin, Texas and was riding an Uber with his head down and looking at his phone. Osborn then told the host that his Uber driver suddenly went crazy.

"He's like, 'This guy crashed,' and I look to my right and there's a car, if you were to picture it, under a bridge's pillars. His car is head-on. He hit the pillar and his car is in flames," the former University of Miami standout explained during the podcast.

The driver then exited the car and insisted they call 911 before running up to the wreck with the NFL star following him. Two others at the scene also helped, with the four men pulling the burning car's driver out and carried the victim to safety.

The Vikings star is in Austin for training and he says that he is still in contact with the burning car's driver and intends to visit him at the hospital. Osborn says that that man only suffered "minor injuries."

"I'm just grateful that I was in the position to be able to help him as well as the three other heroes to be there," he told Schefter.
