Musician and activist Maria Elena Rios has come forward with allegations of sexual assault against actor Tenoch Huerta, known for his role in "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever."

Rios took to social media, specifically Twitter, to publicly accuse Huerta of being a "sexual predator" and stated that he had assaulted her. The accusations arose after a Mexican activist group called Poder Prieto shared a podcast episode featuring Rios on their social media platforms, Yahoo! Entertainment noted.

It is important to note that Huerta is associated with Poder Prieto, an anti-racism organization composed of actors, journalists, and public figures.

Rios claimed on Instagram that Poder Prieto had shared the podcast episode without her consent. She further alleged that she had been compelled to work for Poder Prieto without receiving any compensation.

In addition to these claims, Rios accused Poder Prieto of presenting themselves as a community fighting against racism while engaging in violence behind closed doors and defending Huerta.

Maria Elena Rios Explains Why She Didn't Come Forward Sooner

In a tweet on Sunday, Maria Elena Ríos, the musician who accused Tenoch Huerta of sexual assault, addressed the backlash she has faced since making her accusation. Rios explained her decision not to come forward earlier, per USA Today.

Ríos wrote, "Why did I wait to talk about it? Because I have a process." She expressed her fear of not being believed due to the public's admiration for Huerta as a superhero character, stating, "Because I was afraid that this would happen: people who refuse to believe that a superhero is an abuser, manipulator, and sexual predator."

In another tweet on Sunday, Ríos further shared her experience, stating, "It's very difficult to talk about the emotional abuse and abuse of power of a sexual predator who is loved around the world for playing a character in a movie such as Tenoch Huerta. A charming appearance (is) the great characteristic of a narcissist."
