Jose Tenoch Huerta Meja, also known as Tenoch Huerta, is an actor from Mexico who has appeared in both long and short films in Spain and Latin America.

According to Michigan Sports Zone, he is one of the 30 stars discussed in the book "30 Actors Made in Mexico" by Mónica Maristain. He also portrayed Namor in the 2022 Marvel Cinematic Universe film "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever."

Tenoch Huerta Early Career

Tenoch Huerta's debut film role was in "Asi del precipicio" in 2006. After that, he played Li'l Mago, the leader of the Tapachula branch of the vicious Mara Salvatrucha gang, in Cary Joji Fukunaga's "Sin Nombre" in 2009. 

Aside from his role as Alejo in the movie "Camino" in 2015, he also played Carlos Manami in "The 33," a film based on the true story of 33 miners who became trapped after a gold and copper mine they were working in collapsed.

Huerta also played Juan in "The Forever Purge" and acted as Rafael Caro Quintero in the Netflix series "Narcos: Mexico" in 2018.

He got the award for Best Actor at the Short Short Film Festival in Mexico City for his work in Alonso Ruizpalacios' "Café Paraiso."

Tenoch Huerta's work in Das de Gracia also earned him a 2012 Ariel Award for Best Actor and five additional nominations.

Tenoch Huerta as Namor in 'Black Panther: Wakanda Forever'

Tenoch Huerta's breakout role was Namor in the film "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever." Namor is the ruler of Talokan, an underwater, Mesoamerican-inspired empire that wants to hide itself and its resources from the outside world," Gizmodo reported.

According to the outlet, Huerta won the hearts of Marvel fans for his portrayal as a strong leader and due to his hilarious, adorable red-carpet moments and interviews.

He has shared amusing anecdotes about the green "shame shorts" that were part of his outfit on set.

He also said that the role taught him to swim using floaties.

The reaction has been overwhelmingly positive from followers worldwide, with many of them dubbing him "Agua Papi," which means "Water Daddy" in Spanish.

Tenoch Huerta Net Worth

Tenoch Huerta was born in Ecatepec in the State of Mexico on January 29, 1981. His father liked movies when he was young, so he signed him up for an acting class with Mexican actress María Elena Saldaña.

After he finished his studies, Mexican actors Carlos Torres Torrija and Luis Felipe Tovar hired him to work with them. Huerta's great-great-grandmother on his mother's side was from the Nahua group, and his great-great-grandmother on his father's side was from the Purepecha group. However, Huerta does not identify himself as indigenous.

Citing several outlets, Clutch Point reported that Tenoch Huerta's net worth in 2022 is estimated to be around $2 million. However, estimates still vary across the internet. Some of the numbers are higher.

Tenoch Huerta's net worth likely went up due to "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever," but Marvel did not reveal how much they paid him for his role.
