Despite all the evidence laid down against him, former president Donald Trump entered a "not guilty" plea over his 2020 election interference case, where he was accused of trying to overturn the election results, which he lost to President Joe Biden.

The trial is expected to be a long and drawn-out process, with Trump supporters totally convinced of his innocence that a handful of them went to Washington, DC to protest as he made his first court appearance in this particular case. They were met with counter-protesters, however.

One anti-Trump protester traveled from Miami to voice his opinions. Domenic Santana, 61, told Al-Jazeera News, "You got to play dirty like he does. He's a con artist. America got bamboozled by a con artist."

The former president denied any wrongdoing while in court and stated that he is the victim of a political "witch hunt." He is currently the frontrunner and on track to challenge Joe Biden in the 2024 General Elections. He claims that "This is a persecution of a political opponent" despite evidence against him being considered strong in this case.

The court appearance was muted, and despite the protesters and counter-protesters outside the courthouse, the arraignment ended peacefully and without any incident.

Donald Trump Campaign Aims To Make Money From 2020 Election Indictment

Meanwhile, the Trump Campaign itself is looking to rake in cash from the outrage generated by his latest indictment. The campaign sent out a fundraising email with a line saying "THIRD UNJUST INDICTMENT" right after the former president was indicted for the 2020 election case, and as it seems, they have some merchandise as well.

The campaign website has now started selling "I stand with Trump" T-shirts with the date of his indictment, August 1, 2023. These shirts will be given to those who donated $47 to the campaign, according to CNBC;

This seems to be Trump's latest appeal for cash and to make money from his own legal troubles. Trump's Super PAC is currently being investigated for using money from campaign donations to fund his personal legal battles, many of which he lost, such as the E. Jean Carroll rape case.

Who Are Donald Trump's 6 Co-Conspirators?

The third indictment mentioned that the former president has six unindicted co-conspirators in this case.

According to CBS News, based on the indictment, Co-Conspirator 1 may be Rudy Giuliani, Co-Conspirator 2 is possibly John Eastman, with Co-Conspirator 3 possibly Sidney Powell. All three are Trump attorneys, with Eastman serving as his legal adviser.

Former Justice Department official Jeffrey Clark may be Co-Conspirator 4 as the indictment stated that this was "a Justice Department official who worked on civil matters and who, with the Defendant, attempted to use the Justice Department to open sham election crime investigations and influence state legislatures with knowingly false claims of election fraud."

Co-Conspirator 5 may be attorney Kenneth Chesebro, who sent Co-Conspirator 1 "an email memorandum that further confirmed that the conspirators' plan was not to use the fraudulent electors only in the circumstance that the Defendant's litigation was successful in one of the targeted states - instead, the plan was to falsely present the fraudulent slates as an alternative to the legitimate slates at Congress's certification proceeding."

Co-Conspirator 6 remains unknown for now.
