Patricia Miller, the mother of Billy Miller, known for his roles in "The Young and the Restless" and "General Hospital," has clarified the cause of her son's untimely passing at 43.

 In a statement to Soap Opera Digest, Patricia revealed that Billy "surrendered his life" to bipolar depression, according to the Los Angeles Times.

Previously, Billy Miller's manager, Marnie Sparer, had mentioned that the Daytime Emmy-winning actor had been "struggling with manic depression when he died," but no specific cause or manner of death had been disclosed.

Patricia Miller expressed gratitude to the many fans and friends who offered love, prayers, and condolences following her son BJ (Billy) Miller's devastating death in her heartfelt statement.

She shed light on his long and valiant battle with bipolar depression, emphasizing his relentless efforts to manage the disease.

Patricia conveyed that while Billy deeply loved his family, friends, and fans, the disease ultimately prevailed, leading him to "surrender his life."

Billy Miller's death occurred just two days before his 44th birthday. He is survived by his mother, Patricia; his sister, Megan; brother-in-law, Ronnie; nephew, Grayson; and niece, Charley.

Billy Miller's Career and Early Life

Billy Miller gained recognition when he portrayed Richie Novak on ABC's "All My Children." Following his departure from the show, he took on the role of Billy Abbott in CBS's "The Young and the Restless," earning critical acclaim for his performance in over 700 episodes.

The same year he left "The Young and the Restless," Miller began his role as Jason Morgan/Drew Cain in ABC's "General Hospital."

After extensive involvement in daytime television, Miller transitioned to recurring roles in drama series such as "Suits" and "Truth Be Told."

His career also included appearances in productions like "Ray Donovan," "Fatal Honeymoon," "American Sniper," "Ringer," "Castle," and "Justified."

Born as William John Miller II in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on September 17, 1979, he was raised in Grand Prairie, Texas, The Hollywood Reporter noted.

He pursued studies in production sequence at the University of Texas in Austin before relocating to Los Angeles.

He began his career in the entertainment industry, working in the mailroom at an entertainment management/production company.

Encouraged by friends, he ventured into acting and succeeded with national commercials. In addition to his acting career, Billy Miller owned several restaurants and bars in Los Angeles.
