Ariana Grande has formally filed for divorce from Dalton Gomez, as per court documents obtained by Billboard.

The singer initiated the divorce proceedings in Los Angeles County court, citing "irreconcilable differences." Gomez followed suit, specifying the date of separation as February 20, 2023.

Their separation was first reported in July, marking the end of their two-year marriage. Before their formal separation, they made efforts to reconcile, albeit unsuccessfully.

Despite the divorce, Grande and Gomez remained on friendly terms, maintaining regular communication over the phone.

Ariana Grande-Dalton Gomez Relationship Timeline

Ariana Grande and Dalton Gomez tied the knot in May 2021 in an intimate ceremony at their home in Montecito, California, according to USA TODAY.

The wedding was attended by fewer than 20 people, and Grande wore a Vera Wang gown, fulfilling a promise made by Wang at the Met Gala to design her wedding dress.

Their engagement was initially announced in 2020 when Grande shared a photo on social media flaunting her engagement ring alongside Gomez. She captioned the post with "forever n then some."

Reports of their relationship first surfaced in March 2020, though they didn't publicly confirm their relationship aside from occasional social media posts featuring the two together.

While they largely kept their relationship out of the spotlight, Grande commemorated their second wedding anniversary in May by sharing a picture from their wedding day on her Instagram Story, accompanied by the message "I love him so."

Before Gomez, Grande was engaged to "Saturday Night Live" star Pete Davidson, and their whirlwind romance led to an engagement in 2018.

However, the engagement was called off later that year. The breakup inspired Grande's hit song "Thank U, Next," which referenced Davidson and her other exes.

Ariana Grande-Ethan Slater Relationship

Following her split from Gomez, Ariana Grande is dating Ethan Slater, her co-star from the musical "Wicked," PEOPLE's sources confirmed.

A Broadway alum, Slater married his high school classmate Lilly Jay in November 2018 and became a father in January. Slater filed for divorce from Jay in July.

Sources have indicated that Grande and Slater's romantic involvement began after separating from their partners.

A close family friend clarified, "Ariana and Ethan didn't begin seeing each other until after both parties were separated, respectfully."

Acknowledging the public scrutiny of their relationship, another source close to the situation emphasized their efforts to balance privacy and respect for all parties involved.

"They are just trying to navigate their new relationship in private," the source stated.

Grande and Slater are set to star in Jon M. Chu's film adaptation of the popular Broadway musical "Wicked," with Grande portraying Glinda and Slater playing Boq.

Filming for the movie commenced in the UK in 2022, with plans for a November 2024 release, though the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike may impact its premiere.
