Early on Christmas morning, the childhood home where global music icon Beyonce spent her early years caught fire, leaving the current occupants without a home, according to official records, according to KHOU 11.

Houston firefighters received a distress call just after 2 a.m. reporting a house fire on Rosedale Street, east of Highway 288.

The family residing in the two-story house had already evacuated safely by the time fire crews arrived. The fire, emanating from the second floor, required swift action from the firefighters.

Neighbor Jack May recounted witnessing the flames and the emergency responders' efforts to control the situation.

"My first thought was they have little children, so we came out, and there was no indication that there was any tragedy, so we watched and prayed for the best," May said.

Despite the damage, the occupants escaped unharmed, and firefighters successfully contained a significant portion of the flames within 10 minutes.

However, they had to cut into the roof to address the attic, where the fire was spreading.

Beyonce Childhood Home

The house, though no longer Beyonce's residence for decades, remains a landmark for her fans.

The property, which the Knowles family acquired for $64,000 in 1981, holds historical significance as they lived there until 1986, the year Beyonce's sister Solange, also a Grammy winner, was born, HuffPost noted.

Beyonce herself was seen at the home in September, taking pictures with her mother, Tina, during the Texas leg of the "Renaissance" world tour.

The property has drawn attention from fans over the years.

"We have Beyonce tourists here all the time; it's bizarre," remarked May, the next-door neighbor.

For the family now displaced due to the Christmas morning fire, May expressed hope that the incident doesn't attract additional fanfare.

"Oh, I hope [it draws] fewer people - there's nothing to see today that you couldn't see yesterday or six months from now," he emphasized.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.

Beyonce and Jay-Z Celebrate Christmas Away

As the fire unfolded in Houston, Beyonce and her husband Jay-Z were spending their Christmas holiday at their home in Malibu, California, per PEOPLE.

On Christmas Eve, Mathew Knowles, Beyonce's father, paid tribute to his daughters on Instagram with a heartwarming family picture.

The photo captured the sisters in their youth, dressed up and decorating a Christmas tree.

Knowles reflected on the simple joys of the holiday season for young children and the special bond between Beyonce and Solange.

"What I love most about this very moment is the sheer love, determination, and confidence that Beyonce has in her eyes while looking at Solange," he wrote.

Knowles reminisced about their Christmas celebrations, highlighting the joy and music that filled their home during the festive season.

Despite the unfortunate incident in Houston, the family celebrated the holiday with cherished memories and the enduring spirit of togetherness.
