A newly-released autopsy report has shed light on the death of Brazilian Taylor Swift fan Ana Clara Benevides, who died during the pop star's Brazil concert. Her death has shocked not just Brazil but also the entire Taylor Swift fandom.

The Associated Press obtained the forensics report from Brazilian authorities, and it showed that the Brazilian Taylor Swift fan's death was indeed caused by heat exhaustion. She collapsed while enjoying the concert due to Rio de Janeiro, where the concert took place, suffering from extreme heat at that time.

The report released by Rio's Forensic Medical Institute revealed that her exposure to the extreme heat inside the Nilton Santos Stadium on November 17 led to her suffering from cardiorespiratory arrest. This is despite her not having any preexisting conditions or substance abuse that could have led to her death. It was just the heat.

The institute found that Benevides had "serious compromise of her lungs and sudden death" due to the heat. This is now leading to increased scrutiny of the concert's organizers, TF4, which reportedly banned fans from bringing water into the venue despite the extreme levels of heat.

TF4 noted that the company "followed the best practices," complied with "every demand from authorities," and "distributed thousands of bottles of water" to fans. However, fans who attended the concert said otherwise, and it was Taylor Swift herself who called them out during her performance, pausing the show to tell staff to give fans water.

Taylor Swift Concert Organizer Under Investigation in Brazil Over Fan's Death

Brazil is now investigating TF4 over the incident, with Civil Police Chief Juliana Almeida confirming to local media that a hearing has now been scheduled regarding how the organizers dealt with the extreme heat and what measures they took on the day Benevidez died.

"Given what the report pointed out and the other steps that we will carry out, the hearings could lead to indictment for manslaughter," the Brazilian police chief noted. While the organizers promptly adjusted to dealing with the heat during Taylor Swift's second concert, there were still reports about lapses during the first day, which was when the fan died.

Taylor Swift spent time with the fallen fan's family while she was still in Brazil and even invited them to enjoy the final day of her Eras Tour concert in Brazil, which they did as they were spotted enjoying themselves in the VIP area and having backstage photos with the Grammy winner.
